Article Abstract:
Children's television programme makers must be allowed to develop innovative and creative ideas without the threat of financial limitations placed on project funding. The international nature of funding often puts specific demands on programme makers to produce certain length programme containing specific material which might not be necessary to the educational and entertainment value of other funding countries. Financial backers need to encourage more risk taking if they are going to reap the rewards of creative children's television.

PET and pharmacodynamics
Article Abstract:
Positron emission tomography is useful in both pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. It can produce images that can show a drug's distribution and movement in the brain as well as its effects on the brain. Images are presented that show the activity of the enzyme MAO(sub B) in the brain of a male non-smoker, a male smoker and a male treated with L-deprenyl. These images are produced using the radiotracer deuterium substituted (carbon-11)L-deprenyl(/carbon-11/L-deprenyl-D sub 2).

The Big Breakthroughs
Article Abstract:
Self-tanning lotions are flawed and difficult to apply, they leave orange and blotches, and they smell rancid and take several hours to dry. Biophysicist Tom Laughlin set out to change this and envisioned a way to airbrush the body as uniformly as car paint covers a steel chassis.
