Dealing with the media critics

Article Abstract:

A discussion with Baghdad correspondent for CNN about the difficulties faced in covering the story in Iraq revealed that the news business was open to criticism for overemphasizing the violence in Iraq and under-reporting progress in rebuilding the country. The most serious problems with the news business if the erosion of credibility as the critics are cynical, self-serving, duplicitous or ignorant.

News reporting around the world is dominated by coverage of humiliating and inhumane brutality by American jailers against Iraqi prisoners in military prisons in Iraq. This indicates that too many journalists have forsaken love of country in an attempt to get the good story, enhance a good reputation or make a good income.
