Decision '96: which way to go - Clinton, Dole or Perot?
Article Abstract:
The 1996 US presidential elections will have a substantial impact on businesses operating either inside the country or in foreign lands. With regards to capital-gains tax, Clinton plans to support reduction of capital-gains tax for small and expanding companies, Dole will reduce maximum capital-gains tax on individuals from 28% to 14% and Perot wants a new tax system. Clinton will continue to pursue the adoption of international trade policies, Dole will strive for free trade and Perot wants to concentrate manufacturing efforts in the US.

Tax incremental financing for retail development and the local government decision model
Article Abstract:
Local governments can encourage economic development in their areas by offering tax incremental financing schemes. These incentives include real property tax abatements, the construction of facitlities for commercial use and reductions in land prices. It allows local governments to achieve revenues on an incremental basis as soon as the property is constructed. A model for providing tax incremental financing for development is provided.
