"Das ewig Weibliche" up to date: Gegenkultur und Mutterrecht in Otto F. Walters Roman 'Die Verwilderung'
Article Abstract:
Otto F. Walter expands J.J. Bachofen's ideas on mythological matriarchy in his novel "Die Verwilderung" (1977). The activities of a 1960's commune center around Leni, an opponent of patriarchy and a symbol of erotic and religious femininity. Leni combines the power of matriarchy and feminism in the freedom of counterculture by developing consciousness in addition to being earth mother.
