What we think of our world
Article Abstract:
A new study by ad agency Warwick, Baker and Fiore attempts to assess how people feel about a number of different social, economic and health issues. The survey also asks respondents how prevalent they think a particular problem is. Wildly exaggerated responses reveal a society gripped by cynicism and fear. For instance, AIDS victims and the mentally ill are believed to comprise at least 31% and 30% of the population, respectively. Women and low-income respondents exaggerate the most, perhaps out of a misplaced desire to conform.
