Metaphors we live by: Some examples from Donegal Irish
Article Abstract:
The results of a fieldwork in discovering the meaning of some of Donegal's local symbolic forms as enacted and implemented in the Irish language are discussed. It is seen that the metaphors form an integral part of system from which the Irish people construct their world and these metaphors have a strong influence on the community and individual attitudes and action.
