Several issues that have to be considered in the search for a retirement community are presented. Among them are the financial stability of the entity and the types of care provided. Two types of communities are considered namely, continuing care retirement communities and assisted living communities.

Article Abstract:
Continuing care retirement communities offer assisted living, nursing care and independent living. Unlike homes, communities offer 24-hour health, security, transportation, educational, housekeeping and maintenance services. Amenities also include recreational and dining facilities.

Article Abstract:
Retirement communities offer older people the opportunity to shed house maintenance responsibilities, increase socialization and find safety, security or personal care. Guidance on selling a home and making the move is presented.
