Teaching with Guignol: the "Gone de Lyon."
Article Abstract:
The 'guignol' and the world from which the character came offers an effective way of teaching French. The French teacher only has to improvise scenarios according to the needs of the class. Using 'guignol' this way results in 'slice of life' performances which were the character's original intention. The use of the character with the jigsaw reading and language experience approaches is summarized.
