The conundrum of economic miracle: manufacturing growth without TFP growth

Article Abstract:

With respect to Singapore's manufacturing sector, the prime sources of its output growth, contribution of total factor productivity (TFP) growth to its output growth and factors responsible for a negative TFP growth are examined. Technical efficiency and the technological progress have been found to be the major sources of Singapore's economic growth.

Productivity growth of Indian manufacturing sector; panel estimation of stochastic production frontier and technical inefficiency

Article Abstract:

Using stochastic frontier production function, the economic growth experienced by the Indian manufacturing sector in terms of its total factor productivity is examined. The changes in technical efficiency and productivity are analyzed to determine the growth.

Effects of smoking on productivity: estimating aggregate production technology using cross-sectional time series data

The adverse impact of smoking on productivity is established and measured using time series and cross-sectional data from 14 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries from 1970 to 1992.
