The ghosts of Eric Chevillard
Article Abstract:
Eric Chevillard, like many other authors introduced in France in recent years by the publishing house Editions de Minuit, is going in some new directions with the French novel. He does not belong in the minimalist category many other Minuit writers are in. He heads more into the exaggerated, unstoppable, endlessly repeated, recycling language, quoting existing discourses and allowing them to take on a life of their own. He makes strange worlds. A large group of ghosts are in his writing, both showing a lost past and guiding away from it.
