To Huron's Shore: Rawdon, Quebec Families in Bruce, Grey and Huron Counties
Article Abstract:
This article traces Protestant families of Rawdon Township, Quebec who came from the British Isles in the period 1825-1850. Many travelled westward from there and lived for a period in Bruce, Grey and Huron Counties of sourthern Ontario before heading on to the American Mid-West or the Canadian prairies. The family names include: Huston, Pollock, Dawson, Ralph, Norrish and Swift.

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario (then called Newark) was settled by United Empire Loyalists fleeing the American Revolution. The town was burned in 1813 by American Militia. Descendants of the Loyalists who can prove their lineage may join the United Empire Loyalists' Association.
