Tories who chime with Europe
Article Abstract:
There are no easy options open to the UK's Conservative government with regard to deciding on the course of the country's relations with the European Union. Anti-Europeans within the Conservative party believe that the UK should avoid the dangers of European federalism and retreat into the comfort of national traditions. In contrast, pro-Europeans believe that it is more patriotic to remain within the European Union and even, in certain circumstances, to participate in monetary union.

No. They're not even fit to tie the laces
Article Abstract:
UK chancellor Kenneth Clarke has recently been widely criticised for deviating from the official Conservative party line on a single European currency. Some observers feel that he is deliberately provoking controversy and that he should resign or be dismissed. However, there is nobody who would be able to replace Clarke, who is gaining a strong economic reputation. His departure would lead to grave Budget difficulties, and would prompt the resignation of other ministers.
