A low point for the high street

Article Abstract:

Some observers believe that the UK's high streets will have to be prepared to make many changes if they are not to die out completely over the next few years. Many high streets are already becoming deserted as people choose to shop at out-of-town superstores instead, but this trend could be reversed if high streets offer more specialist and exotic shops. People are already beginning to find superstores boring, so could be tempted to return to the high street if the right approach is taken.

It's a wrap

Article Abstract:

Bulgarian artist Christo has been involved in a number of projects to wrap buildings over several decades. Working with his wife Jeanne-Claude, he has produced works which are essentially pointless, but are also humane and humorous. They are primarly concerned to remove art from galleries and museums, where it is often surrounded in snobbery, and to take it into environments where it is accessible for all. They are soon to embark on wrapping up the Reichstag building in Berlin, Germany.

A rosbif open a restaurant in Paris?

Article Abstract:

The news that Sir Terence Conran is considering opening a restaurant in Paris, France, has prompted a generally negative reaction there. Most Parisian restaurateurs believe that he would not be successful, as the very mixed range of food which his existing restaurants serve would not provide a strong enough identity for a Parisian restaurant. However, he has already been extremely successful with ventures in London, which were also largely dismissed at first.
