A waste of a good idea?
Article Abstract:
There has been considerable interest in a theory put forward by Nobel physics laureate Carlo Rubbia regarding the generation of energy through burning radioactive waste. He believes that uranium-233, an extremely fissile isotope of uranium, can be produced by firing a stream of protons from a particle accelerator into a core of thorium. High-energy neutrons would be produced from the decay of U-233, then creating more uranium atoms when they hit other thorium atoms and eventually using up all the thorium. However, it would be extremely expensive to build a power station of the type proposed by Rubbia.

'NDT2 didn't come into being just as a nice idea, but out of a natural necessity.' (Jiri Kylian's dance company NDT2)(Interview)
Article Abstract:
There is no such thing as a European dance style, according to Jiri Kylian, whose NDT2 dance company is shortly to begin its third tour in the UK. He also believes that there is no distinct NDT2 style, and regards himself as a very eclectic choreographer. The company has worked with many different choreographers, but some observers believe that there is a clear thread running through its works. It is for young dancers, and is a touring operation with a repertoire different from the main NDT company, NDT1.

Innovation a new idea for accountants
Article Abstract:
Accountants must keep up with company strategies and introduce innovative appraisal systems. Management accounts are still compared monthly, ignoring any other view. A new method could be to measure against best performance. Interactive computer or audiovisual displays of results could aid communication with colleagues from other disciplines. Too much information in one report leads to it not being read. Computer graphics can reduce the number of pages of accounts.
