A secluded 80-year-old country estate near Woodside, CA, boasts of a lovely, 43-room house and 16 acres of well-kept gardens that are reminiscent of the UK and Ireland. It was built by William Bowers Bourn II, who loved the great houses and gardens of England.

Abbot Alfred Spencer
Article Abstract:
Raymond Spencer was born in Scopwick, England, in 1915. He joined the Capuchin Franciscans at the age of 19 and made his first vows in 1935, taking the religious name of Alfred. He was ordained priest in 1941.

Bolivia by backpack and boat

The 9th Pan American Boy Scout Jamboree was held in Bolivia in 1995. Among the highlights of the jamboree were hiking trips and a trip made by Boy Scouts from Longmont, CO, to Bolivia's ancient sites.
