UN fears disaster after strikes near huge dam

Conditions for ordinary people in southern Afghanistan are set to worsen following US bomb attacks on a hydroelectric power station near a very large dam. The loss of electricity could lead to extensive flooding and crop failures, according to the United Nations.

Bin Laden 'trapped in mountain cave with escape routes blocked.'

Article Abstract:

It is believed that Osama bin Laden is trapped in a cave in the Tora Bora region of Afghanistan. US aircraft continue to bombard the area, while Allied special forces commandos and mujahedin troops are active on the ground. Escape routes to Pakistan have been blocked.

Elusive bin Laden robs mujahedin of famous victory

Article Abstract:

Mujahedin forces have not been able to track down Osama bin Laden in the Tora Bora region of Afghanistan. They have overrun the al-Qa'ida cave network, with surviving al-Qa'ida troops having fled. However, it is possible that bin Laden was never there.
