But will it catch on here?
Article Abstract:
Political correctness (PC) is a movement which evolved within American universities during the 1980s. Its opponents call it censorship of free speech and simply a means of promoting multiculturalism. Its proponents say PC merely challenges outdated truths which are based on traditional male, white domination. Shirley Williams, who has taught in an American university, considers that PC encourages extremist views on both left and right. She believes the PC debate has come about because American society is less cohesive than it used to be.

Hear their Hue and Cry
Article Abstract:
Scottish youth culture, especially bands and football are fanning nationalism among the young. Bands such as Runrig who sing in Gaelic and Hue and Cry sing about Scotland and national issues at political events and have stirred up visions of an independent socialist Scotland. Football also stirs up a Scottish identity, and poor international results actually result in lower support for the Scottish National Party.
