Costume and production designer Danilo Donati was born in Suzzara, Italy, in 1926. He studied in Florence, Italy, to become a muralist and fresco painter and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy. He made his debut as assistant costume designer on the 1954 production of 'La Vestale.'
