Europeans united in the hunt for aliens

Article Abstract:

European collaboration in space exploration is discussed. The European Space Agency is to launch a series of space probes, focusing on Mars but also looking at Titan, the next most likely location for alien life. There are also plans to use three space-based observatories to investigate the star fields for Earth-like planets travelling around alien suns.

Starquakes offer clues to alien life

Article Abstract:

Recent research has identified very small oscillations in Alpha Centauri-A, a very Sun-like star which is the Earth's nearest star. This work confirms that Alpha Centauri-A is even more Sun-like than had previously been thought.

Can we ever reach for the stars?

Article Abstract:

The possibility of travel to other star systems is discussed. The key barrier to interstellar flight is the speed of light, believed to be the fastest velocity it is possible for anything to travel.
