Fever pitch
Article Abstract:
Performing a play in a person's house can be a rather strange experience, according to Canadian actress Clare Coulter, who has performed American playwright Wallace Shawn's play 'The Fever' in Canada, German, France, the US and the UK. She has found that it is not possible to predict how people will react to the play, which was highly criticised when it was performed by Shawn himself in 1990. It is certainly a controversial play, and in this respect the fact that it is performed outside a conventional theatre can be helpful.

Bouquet of Bard wire
Article Abstract:
It is important to see the human situation in the wider context of social or political change, according to theatre director Helena Kaut-Howson. This is why she has taken an unusual approach with her production of Shakespeare's 'All's Well That Ends Well' for the Open Air Theatre. She has set the play, which is a bold choice for a theatre company which operates on a very small budget, in a war zone. She admits that it is not a play which is immediately understandable, but feels that it benefits from the outdoor setting.
