Article Abstract:
Musical standards in the UK have become resilient as funding for the arts has been continually cut, according to London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) Chief Executive and Artistic Director Serge Dorny. He believes that European orchestras are now beginning to suffer the same financial difficulties as their UK counterparts. This will benefit UK orchestras, as they already have lengthy experience of operating on very small budgets. The LPO is shortly to perform a four-night Prokofiev Festival which will include some Prokofiev music which is not usually performed.
