Article Abstract:

Landscape artist Jeff Nuttall believes that his works combine gross eroticism with baroque romanticism. His works, which are characterized by surfaces which are raised into the third dimension, are currently being exhibited at the Westland Centre, Festival Park, Ebbw Vale, Wales. He has recently had a number of successful acting roles, but still has a lot of time for painting. He has always been known as a confrontational avant-gardist, but is beginning to take a less radical approach as he grows older.

Article Abstract:

The influence of jazz trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker, who died in 1988, remains strong. His music continues to attract new listeners, and there are plans for a film about him. The melancholic nature of his music has proved particularly influential, and he can be regarded as the forerunner of an entire genre of introspective music. Almost everything he recorded is of high quality, even though he became very heavily dependent on heroin in his later years.

Welcome to the Dreadzone

Article Abstract:

The live performances of dance music group Dreadzone are extremely interesting for their combination of sound and image. Their work draws on film and poetry, and attempts to encourage audiences to think. There are new age, punk, Jamaican and Indian elements, and the group tries to present a collage of what it sees as representing the UK today.
