Israeli spies exposed by defector

Article Abstract:

The names of 52 Lebanese agents working for the Israeli Shin Beth in Lebanon have been revealed following the defection of former joint head of security for the South Lebanon Army (SLA). Some 19 agents have been arrested by the Lebanese security forces and the remainder have been given the option to turn themselves in before the October 7 court hearing, in return for a lighter sentence. Sentences could include execution, or between three years and life imprisonment.

The new face of Hizbollah

Article Abstract:

Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah is a Sayed, born in 1971 in east Beirut, who studied theology at Najaf until President Saddam Hussein expelled him. He met Ayatollah Khomeini and helped found the Hizbollah in 1982. He leads the Hizbollah in forcing Israel out of southern Lebanon. As Lebanese politics and diplomacy have failed to free any Arab land he believes that the strength of the people must overcome the aggressor with sacrifice, as in Iran.

South Lebanon slowly starts to lose its mines - but too late for some

Article Abstract:

The mines left behind by the Israeli army when it retreated from Lebanon in May 2000 have so far killed 11 civilians and seriously injured at least 56. There are officially 70,000 mines, but the United Nations believes that there are total of 130,000 mines, booby-traps and unexploded bombs in southern Lebanon.
