Julia's pictures: could it happen to you?

Article Abstract:

The recent case of television newsreader Julia Somerville, who was questioned by police about allegedly pornographic photographs of her seven-year-old daughter taking a bath, has caused great concern for many parents. Many families take photographs of their young children with no clothes on, regarding this as simply a normal part of family life. However, there have been cases in which this has been misinterpreted. This can cause great distress for the family concerned.

One minute, sir, my mobile's ringing

Article Abstract:

People aged under 24 account for a third of the entire mobile phone market in the UK, and even school-age children are now using mobile phones. The market has been particularly boosted by the launch in 1994 of Mercury One-2-One, which offers free local calls after 7pm and at weekends. As this trend develops, the phone will stop being a symbol of parental power, and will become a key element of youth freedom instead.
