Politician David Shore was born in Great Yarmouth, England, in 1924. He studied Economics at King's College, Cambridge, England, and began work for the Transport and General Worker's Union after National Service in the RAF. He joined the Labour party in 1948.

Lord Sefton of Garston

Local politician William Sefton was born in Garston, England, in 1915. He began his working life as a plumber at the Garston Tannery Factory, and became a delegate to Liverpool Trades Council and Labour Party. He was created Baron Sefton of Garston in 1978.
