Nicholas Budgen
Article Abstract:
Nicholas Budgen was a politician from the United Kingdom Conservative Party who was among rebels opposed to the policy on Europe of the prime minister in 1994, John Major. Budgen would not move on issues of intellectual principle. He argued that national independence was threatened by certain legislation and he was often shown to be right. He was especially concerned about European monetary union, and the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union.

Sir David Lane
Article Abstract:
Politician David Lane gained a double First in Classics at Trinity College, Cambridge, England, despite spending a year in the Royal Navy during the second world war. He then studied at Yale School of Business Studies, and established a successful career in business. He was the unsuccessful Conservative candidate in the Lambeth Vauxhall constituency in the general election of 1964, and was Conservative MP for Cambridge, England, between 1967 and 1976.
