Article Abstract:
It is both pleasing and daunting to have been designated the first Children's Laureate, according to illustrator Quentin Blake. The Children's Laureate will be awarded once every two years to a high-profile writer or illustrator of children's books to mark outstanding achievement. Blake finds it daunting to know that people are now looking to him to make a difference. He welcomes the fact that the Children's Laureate has been given the freedom to decide what activities would be appropriate to promote children's books.

Me, myself, I
Article Abstract:
Rembrandt died at 63-years-old, and was affected by debts, drink and the deaths of his friends, prior to his death. He also lived at a time of indifference and bigotry, and sought a path beyond the darkness. His self-portraits tell viewers about old age, but they have a deeper message. self portraits have often been theatrical, but this is not true of Rembrandt's later self-portriats. He may have used a mirror technique which allow him to paint himself as though he were painting another.
