Article Abstract:

European courier services are set to benefit greatly from the development of a European single market. Cross-border trade is expected to rise by 15-20% a year, and all the larger carriers are now making investment plans. Companies such as Parcelforce can supply as many as 90 million addresses, and they are benefiting from greater commercial freedom, forming links with private sector distributors. Brewery knows value of keeping business in the family

Article Abstract:

UK family-owned regional brewer Charles Wells has recently received a Queen's Award for Export. The concern began exporting in 1979, and now exports to 23 countries, including Russia and Norway. It believes that its success is mainly attributable to the fact that it is small enough to establish close links with its suppliers and to work closely with agents and distributors. It has encouraged its employees to learn foreign languages, and this has greatly improved communications.
