Article Abstract:

There has been a rise in the UK over recent years in the number of burials at sea. There is a small number of companies carrying out full sea burials, rather than just scattering of ashes, and there are two designated burial sites in the English Channel. Some people choose to be buried at sea because they dislike the atmosphere at urban crematoria, while others believe that burial at sea is more environmentally-friendly than filling up graveyards.
