Article Abstract:

Many companies are now developing a strong customer focus, regarding customer satisfaction as vital to their success. Customer focus has an impact on how companies do business, and also affects the way operations are carried out within the company. Recent research into the process of measuring customer satisfaction and its use by management indicates that a company's internal customers can create significant barriers to establishing external customer focus. Internal customers can present problems such as customer fear, market simplification and market complacency.
