Short, sharp and spectacularly simple

Article Abstract:

Snowblades are similar to small carving skis. They are extremely easy to use, with the only technique required being to adopt the correct stance, bending your knees to put your weight on to the balls of your feet. Snowblades, introduced by Salomon in the 1997 to 1998 season, quickly became very popular, and more than 100,000 pairs were sold in the first full season. It is expected that sales of skiboards, the generic term for Snowblades, will rise to 500,000 pairs in the 1998 to 1999 season.

Great moments for Ghent

Article Abstract:

The city of Ghent, situated in Flanders, the Flemish-speaking area of Belgium, has a very long history and was once one of the most influential cities in northern Europe. It still retains many attractions for visitors, including the Castle of the Counts, the busy market and the 18th century merchants' houses on the canal. In the enormous St Baaf's Cathedral, there is an altarpiece dating from 1432, and the city has more listed buildings than any other in Belgium.
