Ten years on, will the bull market end in another crash?

Article Abstract:

Some observers believe that the current bull market on Wall Street could end in a spectacular crash, as was the case on Oct 19, 1987. They predict that vast sums will be wiped off the value of savings and pensions and that there will be significant repercussions for the real economy, not just for financial markets. There is certainly cause for concern about the growing bullishness on Wall Street, and it is correct to state that the current bull run will shortly come to an end. However, the end will not necessarily come in the form of a spectacular crash.

Sinking Trafalgar jettisons family jewels

Article Abstract:

Trafalgar House was once one of the strongest UK conglomerates, but is now experiencing considerable difficulties. It was recently obliged to sell the Ritz hotel, and has not yet recovered from the embarrassment it suffered when its Cunard subsidiary allowed the QE2 to set sail when its refurbishment had not been completed. Its shares have fallen to only just above their lowest level since 1974, and it is now valued at only just over 300 million pounds sterling.
