'Even we were to tell it, we would not be believed': a lesson from the work of Primo Levi
Article Abstract:
The voluntary accounts by survivors of their life experiences differ widely from biographical interviews. The works of Primo Levi, who spent time in an extermination camp at Auschwitz, reveal the attribute of the witness and the role of the informer. His works juxtapose the epistemological plane with methodology and pay close attention to their coherence. It is possible to apply insights gained from Levi's works to assess the qualitative aspects of other witness accounts.

The Eigg race is on
Article Abstract:
The Hebridean island of Eigg is currently owned by a German artist, but he has recently put it up for sale and its 63 residents are hoping to be able to buy it. They are linking with the Scottish Wildlife Trust and the local authority to put in a bid, and hope to be able to run the island as a trust. They may receive financial assistance from the National Lottery, but will have to raise a large part of the necessary funding themselves.
