Cash in the Hat

Article Abstract:

Cartoonist Dr Seuss owed his success mainly to the character The Cat in the Hat, which first appeared in 1957. Seuss, whose real name was Theodore Seuss Geisel, was very interested from an early age in animals with inhuman form, and had a very active imagination. He had little contact with children, but seemed to instinctively understand what would appeal to children. He spent up to a year on each book, often drawing on memories from his childhood.
