The last word on the outsider

Article Abstract:

French writer Albert Camus had been working on a novel at the time of his death in 1959, but his family originally decided not to publish it, as they felt that it could be used as ammunition by critics who had been saying that the quality of his writing was deteriorating. However, his children later decided to go ahead with publishing the work, which has recently become available in an English translation entitled 'The First Man.' It has already sold more than 400,000 copies in France alone, and has received extensive praise.
