The real meaning of rape

Article Abstract:

An analysis of publicized cases of date rape and related sexual attacks makes it clear that widely recognized definitions of rape must be reassessed. At present, the definition of rape is both too wide and too narrow to properly protect women. Men accused of date rape or other sexual attacks are able to exploit minor physical distinctions in the definition of rape to ensure that they are not convicted. Furthermore, current definitions lead some young men to believe that rape is not always wrong.
