Shine again, Star of David
Article Abstract:
Many east European Jews are now seeking to revive their religion and culture, following many years in which they were often ashamed to admit that they were Jewish at all. This is particularly the case in Hungary, where Jewish religious festivals such as Yom Kippur are now attracting large crowds. There has been a very strong Jewish revival in Budapest, where the Dohany Street synagogue, the largest in Europe, has recently been reopened.

Search revived for the Amber Room
Article Abstract:
A sealed-off area of underground rooms in Weimar, Germany, is believed to include the Amber Room which houses a collection of amber wall panels and furniture. It was originally located in the Summer Palace outside St Petersburg and its treasures were stolen by the Nazis in 1941. Their subsequent whereabouts are disputed. Two sites are now being searched, Jonastal and Weimar.
