Article Abstract:
It is very unusual for journalists in the UK to be in a position to put their family before their work. Newsrooms remain male-dominated, and it is not expected that journalists will want to lead a normal family life. This is also true for journalists who work in broadcasting. Article Abstract:
Many negative views have been expressed about Charles Lewington, the chief publicist of the UK Conservative party. He is regarded as too lightweight and unable to handle the media appropriately. Some journalists complain that he ignores them, while others find his briefings extremely boring. The Conservative party is now greatly outclassed by the Labour party in terms of publicity and securing positive media coverage.
