Dendrimers display liquid crystal talents
Article Abstract:
Chemists Virgil Percec and Goran Unger have fabricated dendrimers that can change their orientation with the application of an electrical field, much like liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Displays made of dendrimers could be cheaper and more flexible than LCDs and usable with a variety of substrates.
