Surf's up
Article Abstract:
Wave heights in the North Atlantic Ocean may be on the rise. In 1994, the European Union commissioned scientists to measure wave heights after British oceanographers reported a trend of big waves. European Union scientists found that while the storm climate has not deteriorated in the last 100 years, the average height of waves has increased by about two centimeters a year. The reason for the increase is thought to be related to wave swell.
