Hans Zeisel, 1905-1992
Article Abstract:
Hans Zeisel was born in Czechoslovakia and graduated from the University of Vienna in 1927 with a law degree. Zeisel practiced both law and survey research in Vienna until 1938, when he was forced to emigrate to New York. He became a member of the law faculty at the University of Chicago in 1953. Zeisel probably would have liked to have been remembered for the survey-analysis text 'Say It with Figures' and for his American Sociological Assn Paul F. Lazarsfeld Award.
