Painting mutations
Article Abstract:
A scientific illustrator describes her research into the mutation of insects downwind of nuclear power plants and disposal sites in Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and at the Chernobyl and Three Mile Island disaster sites. Her paintings of mutated insects reflect the animals she found and refute the claims of nuclear scientist that the low levels of radiation released by power plants are harmless to animals and man. A favorable comment on her work was included in the book 'After Chernobyl.'
