The anti-music of the aerospheres

Article Abstract:

Georgia Tech aerospace engineers are trying to develop noise dampening devices based on ceramic beads. Financially supported by NASA Langley Research Center, engineers have created a shroud-like acoustic liner which promises to control sound waves emitted by industrial equipment, aircraft, motor vehicles and household product. The ceramic aerospheres successfully block noise from jet nozzles but will melt or burn at high temperatures.
