A traffic sign recognition test can discriminate between older drivers who have and have not had a motor vehicle crash
Article Abstract:
This article evaluates the accuracy of a test designed to distinguish between older drivers with good safety records and those who have been at fault in a recent accident. Findings indicate that a test measuring recognition of common street signs can accurately identify older drivers with a record of recent accident involvement.

Characteristics of motor vehicle crashes of drivers with dementia of the Alzheimer type
Article Abstract:
Research to determine automobile crash rates and characteristics differences between Alzheimer demented and nondemented aged drivers is presented. Results indicate little difference in rates, but Alzheimer drivers had more at-fault crashes, injuries, and officer citations for failure to yield.
