Orthostatic hypotension and cognitive decline in older people
Article Abstract:
Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is not associated with the risk of cognitive impairment in old age. The impact of OH's cerebral hypoperfusion on cognitive deterioration remains unclear. Cognition decline in 651 older adults tested two years after the initial assessment was due mainly to advanced age and lack of formal education. The overall rate of OH was 28.7% in this group.
