Age, marital satisfaction, and optimism as predictors of positive sentiment override in middle-aged and older married couples
Article Abstract:
A study was carried out to examine positive sentiment override across two different interpersonal contexts, namely collaborative problem solving and discussion of an argument in the marriage among older generations and middle age couples. Results showed that sentiment override was more a characteristic of individuals' perception of the type of relationships they had and not only positivity.
