Classical conditioning in patients with Alzheimer's disease: a multiday study
Article Abstract:
Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients are capable of acquiring the classically conditioned eyeblink response. A four-day test showed that this is possible. Although AD patients performed significantly worse than the control groups on the first day of the study, they were not significantly different from controls on the fourth day. The conditioning deficit observed in AD patients was associated with hippocampal deficits. Findings indicate that eyeblink conditioning can be used in the diagnosis of AD.

Playing with pets and longevity among older people
Article Abstract:
Case studies of 1,528 participants in the Terman Life Cycle Study, conducted from 1921 to 1991, revealed nil correlations between playing with pets and health-prone attributes and healthy behaviors such as personality, social relationships and education in the subjects. Survival analysis of recorded longevity reveals negative correlations between mortality risk and playing with pets.

Possible selves of individuals with Alzheimer's disease
Article Abstract:
