Education, cumulative advantage, and health
Article Abstract:
The dormancy and rebirth of American interest in the relationship of health to socioeconomic status and the large old-age differences in health across levels of education that develop over adulthood is discussed. It is argued that the health advantages or disadvantages accumulate over a lifetime and do not recede in old age.

Objective neighborhood properties and perceptions of neighborhood problems: Using a geographic information system (GIS) in neighborhood effects and aging research
Article Abstract:
Explication of the relationship between objective neighborhood properties and perceptions of neighborhood problems (PNP) are analyzed. Results show that the contextual aggregation of neighborhood properties matters relative to the magnitude, significance and directions of neighborhood effects.

Research states that, widowhood is a multi-faceted transition and that its personal consequences are contingent upon macro social conditions. To prove this, implications for policy, practice, and future research are discussed.
