Depressed albumin and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol: signposts along the final common pathway of frailty
Article Abstract:
The article examines the role of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in ascertaining risk of frailty in elderly patients. Physiological implications of HDL cholesterol levels are enumerated and examined, leading to the conclusion that HDL levels are a reliable means of estimating patient frailty risk.
