Effects of supporting community-living demented patients and their caregivers: a randomized trial
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that families of demented patients are able to postpone placing them in long-term institutional care if they have help from a community family care coordinator. Data were obtained from 100 home-living dementia patients 65 years of age and older, receiving support from informal caregivers.

Genetic variant of lactase-persistent C/T (sub -13910) is associated with bone fractures in very old age
Article Abstract:
A study of the relationship between C/C - 13910 genotype and bone fractures in elderly is presented. It is observed that the lactase gene is a risk factor for the bone fractures.
